2012 BEC Australia Awards for Performance

We all recognise the benefits to our communities that excellence in service and innovation can deliver. The aim of the BEC Australia Awards is to highlight the excellence that exists within the national BEC network.

There are six award categories, three industry awards for BECs and three for BEC clients.

Industry Awards

BEC's

In each of these categories, the BEC and/or manager must be nominated by clients via the BEC Australia website. Nominees will then be sent an application kit to complete.
Award categories are:

  1. The business.gov.au award for Best Metropolitan BEC 2012
  2. The business.gov.au award Best Regional BEC 2012
  3. The business.gov.au award Best Business Mentor 2012

BEC Clients

In 2012, BEC clients are again recognized for their achievements. These businesses must be identified by their local BEC who will provide support during the application process.
Award categories are:

  1. Best Start up business (to be eligible for this award, businesses must have been in operation for less than 2 years, from the date the nomination is received.
  2. Best Home-based business. This award recognises that home-based businesses are an important sector of the Australian business community. To be eligible for this award, the business must be operating at or from home.
  3. Best Micro-business. To be eligible for this award, the business must employ less than 5 people, including the owner/operator.

Prizes

Winners of all categories will receive a cash prize of $500 and a trophy of value. BEC Managers will accept the prize on behalf of the winner at the National Conference.

Feel free to nominate a BEC or manager or a small business for the 2012 BEC Australia Awards for Performance. Simply email us a short paragraph as to who you would wish to nominate and why.
